Grapefruit Juice

Big Texas grapefruits, freshly squeezed and poured into a sugar rimmed martini glass. There is nothing as delicious! Texas grapefruits are very sweet. On a warm summer evening, this treat is sure to please everyone in the family.

Ingredients:
Texas grapefruits

Directions:
Use a juicer to squeeze all the juice and pour into a glass.

Watermelon Smoothie

My favorite way to make these is to use fresh from the Farmer's Market watermelons, the ones with loads of seeds. They just taste the best, but in a pinch, I will grab a pre cut watermelon from the grocery store. Here's how it's done...

Ingredients:
Watermelon chunks (about 3 or 4 cups worth)
1/2 lime

Directions:
After cutting up watermelon chunks, place them in the refrigerator for 3 or more hours (or into the freezer for about 30-45 minutes). Place chunks into blender. Squeeze the lime into the blender. Blend til smooth. Super refreshing!

Detox Cucumber Juice

I actually like drinking this when I'm in training for a marathon because it reduces inflammation and fills me with energy. I don't mind the strong flavor but if I were making this for my kids, I would add melon of some kind to make it sweeter.

Ingredients:
2 cucumbers peeled
1/2 lime peeled
2 inch piece of ginger peeled
about one cup of fresh parsley
pinch of cayenne pepper

Directions:
Place first four ingredients into juicer and juice them. Add a bit of cayenne and stir. Pour over ice.
